Thank you for your concern about Year 2000 readiness at Pacific Scientific Instruments.

It is Pacific Scientific Instruments’ policy to not participate in individual surveys for our customers due to the enormous time burden entailed in such an undertaking.  Please rest assured that Pacific Scientific Instruments fully intends to uphold all its commitments to our valued customers.  Efforts are currently underway to ensure that there are no interruptions in service and/or products due to problems associated with the date change to the year 2000.

As a business we are now “Y2K Ready” as of October 1, 1999.  We have attained this status by performing the following key measures:

Auditing or testing hardware, operating systems, and software for all of our critical business, manufacturing, and engineering systems
Examining other equipment and tools with embedded date logic to the extent they have a material effect on our capabilities
Evaluating the abilities of key vendors and suppliers to provide uninterrupted service
Development of effective contingency plans to deal with the consequences of situations beyond our control.
Development of the Y2K section on our website at
www.pacsciinst.com to effectively communicate pertinent product status information to our customers worldwide.

We believe that these efforts, and any follow up activities they may precipitate, will ensure our ability to provide uninterrupted service and products to our customers.

We recognize the seriousness of this issue and are doing our best to be prepared for all foreseeable eventualities. Our primary concern is to assure our ability to provide ongoing high quality products and services to our valued customers.

Best regards,

Bill Bars
